Malachi has been exposed to quality literature since a young age, has excellent retention, comprehension and vocabulary skills.  He enjoys reading often and from a wide genre.

Our desire is by the conclusion of Stage 5 Malachi will be able to:

  • respond to and compose texts for understanding, interpretation, critical analysis, imaginative expression and pleasure
  • thinks imaginatively, creatively, interpretatively and critically about information, ideas and arguments to respond to and compose texts 
  • identifies, considers and appreciates cultural expression in texts

Mathematics

Malachi can operate with fractions, decimals, percentages and ratios. Can calculate perimeters of plane shapes and circumferences of circles, uses formulas to calculate areas of quadrilaterals and circles, uses formulas to calculate volume, and calculates side lengths and angles of triangles,

Our desire is by the conclusion of Stage 5.1 Malachi will be able to:
  • applies appropriate mathematical techniques to solve problems
  • operates with fractions, decimals and percentages
  • operates with ratios
  • operates with algebraic equations
  • calculates the perimeters of plane shapes and the circumferences of circles
  • uses formulas to calculate the areas of quadrilaterals and circles and convert between units of area
Science & Technology
Malachi absorbs and retains any information he informally and formally obtains through a variety of multimedia.  Malachi astounds us with his wide knowledge when he shares with us snippets of where his interest has led him.  Malachi has an incredible ability to note a problem, assess and solve it, often thinking ‘outside the box’.  We easily imagine him following a career path as an inventor.
Our desire is by the conclusion of Stage 5 Malachi will:
  • continue to develop a questing mind regards ‘all things science’
