This Term in Learning, Term 4, 2023

My poor record keeping so far in arrears, coupled with the children’s patchy record keeping, means the following is only a rough approximation of the work undertaken.

Week 3 we enjoyed our annual family holiday. This year at Smith’s Lake. A week of board games, cooking & feasting, kayaking on the lake, and playing in the surf on the beach.

Group Work:

Writing Club – We began WC again this Term. The children were all thrilled to be back. At the conclusion of the Term all children submitted a piece of their writing to be published and bound into a book. Our children worked many hours on this, writing, editing and editing several more times. We were thrilled with their efforts, time management skills learnt and their final results.

Morning Basket: We began enjoying MB together again this term with all 4 children.

During this time we read through books of Greek Mythology, Poetry, and History and Science Reads.

Read Aloud: 20+ Chapters

Saxon

Maths

Dictation

Faith

Spanish

Tafe: Cert 4 IT – Saxon diligently works away. He whips through any coding assignments, though finds the policies and procedure assignments more of a challenge.

He is needing more support than we have been giving him, help to get assignments ‘over the line.’ He has a number of units nearly completed but needs support to finish.

He is to finish in March next year but may well have to extend his course.
