The following is an approximation of the learning undertaken this term. Recording mostly academic work, relying on the children’s notes and my own. As always, far more learning accorded than recorded here.
Group Work:
Weekly Writing Club – WC was huge this term, we had 50 children!! Way too many. Going forth next term we will reduce the numbers back to 30, far more manageable.
The children all settled back into their various groups, the synergy as always was brilliant and each of the facilitators extended the children. We are so blessed to have our weekly Writing Club, I love seeing the growth and development of all the children as writers.
Morning Basket: Daily selection of: Poetry, Greek Mythology and Literature/Short Stories, reading our way through Victorian Reader 8.
During this time we read through our books of History, Science and Faith Reads. A Little History of the World – Gombrich, Introduction to Catholicism and Our Universe.
Read Aloud: I Am David for the teen boys. We finished and it was brilliant, sobbed through parts, well I did.
All of a Kind of Family with Siena, still reading it.
Saxon
Tafe: Cert 4 IT – It was a push to finish but he did it!! So very proud of him. He pulled 10 hour days, for 7 days for the last fortnight. A legend!!
Maths: Saxon has also been working on his maths as well as Cert 4.
