The following is only an approximation of the learning undertaken this term, far more learning occurred than was recorded here. My notetaking continued to be poor this term, work was undertaken but not recorded.
The children also grew and learnt alot about life this term. Their grandfather’s dementia hastened along, and they spent time assisting their grandparents in dealing with a house crisis. They learnt much and displayed incredible kindness and patience as we dealt with a complex situation. I was incredibly impressed with their kindness and patience.
The Long Way Home:
Back in June the three children submitted writing pieces for an annual Clarence Valley Writing Competition. This term, we were notified that Sebastian and won a place in the competition, and his piece was one of the few selected for the Highschool section. There was great excitement!

During this time we read through our books of History, Science and Faith Reads, and our Read Aloud.
History Core:
Sebastian & Siena – Our Island Story by HE Marshall. Read 6+ chapters. Covered James 6th of Scotland, and Charles 1st, Bonny Prince Charlie. Wherein I continue to rant and rage at this book about the anti-Catholic sentiment and continue to impress upon the children the importance of primary sources, and seeking the Truth in History. Discussing prejudice and rewriting history from a Protestant bias. The children beg me to simply burn the book. I do finally give up in disgust.
